About Food Justice Certified Farms

Farms of any size and type can become Food Justice Certified farms.

Policy on Organic Certification

Organic certification is not required, however many toxic materials typically used on farms pose risks to the health and safety of farmers, their families and their workers. The AJP standards require that non-certified organic farms do not use any materials from the List of Prohibited Materials - based on the list published by Pesticide Action Network.

Food Justice Pledge

The goal of certification is to help farmers connect with their customers. For very small farms conducting only direct sales to the public (CSA, farmstands or farmers markets) certification may not be necssary. Farms of this sort with no more than 2 full-time employees or 5 seasonal employees year round will be eligible to participate in the Food Justice Pledge. AJP is currently in the development phase for this program - contact us for more information: agjusticeproject@gmail.com.
